Find the space to open and connect

Summertime in Vancouver is a season of open horizons, big celebration, and exposed skin. Scheduled to coincide with Vancouver’s world-renowned Celebration of Light fireworks event, and taking place the weekend before Vancouver Pride, this year’s Ignite Festival will be a scorcher.

Festival Location

Come home to your fire.

We’re ecstatic to be hosting Ignite Festival at the intimate and inspiring Beaumont Studios in Vancouver, BC. This quirky venue offers three unique workshop spaces (including an expansive courtyard!) as well as areas to connect and relax between sessions.

The Beaumont Studios: 316 W 5th Ave, Vancouver, BC, Canada

In their own words, the Beaumont Studios Artist Society (BSAS) is designed to inspire and engage artists, designers, and creative small business owners with space, events and opportunities to work together, play together, share, learn, create and produce art and artistic projects and engage with the community around it. It is a place for the public to engage with art, learn from our artist community and appreciate creativity for what it brings to our lives.

The venue is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. We endeavour to gather in ways that are intentionally decolonizing, and contribute a portion of our revenues to the Urban Native Youth Association.

The venue is an eight-minute walk from both Broadway - City Hall and Olympic Village train stations on the Canada Line, connected directly to Downtown Vancouver, Richmond, and YVR Vancouver Airport. There is also ample street parking located in the blocks surrounding the venue, and parkades to the south-west off of 7th and 8th Avenues at Cambie Street.

The nearest hotels include the YWCA downtown, Cambie Lodge B&B, and the Park Inn & Suites by Radisson on Broadway.

Accessibility

Each of the 27 workshops at Ignite will have different circumstances regarding sound volumes, lighting levels, and degrees of physical intensity. Please see the “Level of Physicality” 💦 rating system, as well as workshop descriptions, on the Workshops page of the festival website for information specific to each workshop. Please direct specific questions and accommodation requests to the workshop facilitator, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

The entire first floor of the venue, including all workshop spaces, are at-grade. In some cases (e.g. the entrance to the Gallery space) there is a small 3 cm (1 inch) step into the space. The social lounge is located on the second floor up a flight of stairs, and has no wheelchair access. Accessing the Love Lounge on the first floor will require navigating a narrow hallway.

There is a wheelchair-accessible washroom located on the first floor, as well as additional washrooms located on the first and second floors, with both stalls and urinals. All washrooms for Ignite participants are gender-neutral.

There are no water fountains in the venue. Rather, participants should bring their own reusable water bottles which can be filled with tap water in bathrooms or in the kitchen.

While Ignite Festival emails all participants requesting that attendees refrain from wearing scented products at the festival, we do not enforce this policy, nor does The Beaumont Studios venue have permanent scent-free policies in place.
